FC Fast Connector

FC fast connector is a type of fiber fast connector that uses a screw-on coupling mechanism. It has a metal housing with a ceramic ferrule at the end that holds the fiber in place. The connector is terminated in the field using a specialized tool that cleaves and inserts the fiber into the connector. Installing a fiber optic fast connector is as easy as "Strip, Cleave, and Cam" process.

1. What tools are required for assembly?

Only basic tools are needed, including a fiber stripper, fiber cleaver, and cleaning materials. No epoxy, curing, or polishing equipment is required.

2. What optical performance can be expected?

Typical insertion loss is ≤0.3 dB. Return loss is ≥50 dB for UPC polish and ≥55 dB for APC polish.

3. Do I need a fusion splicer to use these connectors?

No. Field assembly connectors are mechanical. They do not require an electric arc or fusion splicer. You only need standard preparation tools: a stripper, a cleaver, and alcohol wipes.
