FC-FC 50/125μm OM4 DX Fiber Optic Cable

FC/UPC-FC/UPC Duplex Fiber Optic Patch Cable, OM4 50/125um Multi-mode, Aqua Jacket, 1M/2M/3M/Custom. FC/UPC duplex optic jumper has two fibers and two FC connectors on each end. Its connection is resistant to pulls, strains and impacts during installation. 

Multimode patch cord cables use 62.5/125 micron or 50/125 micron bulk multimode fiber cable with multimode fiber optic connectors at both ends and cable jacket of orange, aqua or purple colors.  When it comes to OM4 fiber, the core diameter is 50/125 um and the cable jacket color is aqua.

OM3 and OM4 share many common features. They have aqua jackets and core diameter of 50µm. Both cables are optimized for laser (e.g. VCSEL) based equipment that uses fewer modes of light. They are the only two types of multi-mode fibers included in the 40G and 100G Ethernet standard, leading them to become the tendency in the future. 

Then how is OM4 cable different from OM3 cable? Fristly, the minimal modal bandwidth of OM4 is 4700MHz*km at 850nm work wavelength. More importantly, they have different specifications. OM4 is a further improvement over OM3. It supports longer distance and higher transmission, specifically 10 Gigabit Ethernet at lengths up 550 meters and 100 Gigabit Ethernet at lengths up to 150 meters.
