MTP/MPO OM5 Patch Cable supports 40/100 Gb Ethernet speeds and is designed for high-density connections between network equipment in telecommunication rooms and data centers. With two female MTP/MPO connectors, this OM5-rated multimode fiber optic cable is recommended for high-density fiber patching between data center main distribution frames and intermediate distribution frames. compatible with both QSFP+ 40GBASE-SR4 and QSFP28 100GBASE-SR4 connections.
An MPO/MTP cabling system typically comprises several key components, including MPO/MTP fiber patch cords, adapter panels, patch bays, and breakout boxes. MPO/MTP fiber patch cords are equipped with MPO/MTP connectors on both ends and are used to connect devices directly to patch bays or link patch bays together. Adapter panels offer a centralized platform for managing MPO/MTP patch cords, often featuring multiple adapter ports to facilitate cross-connects. Patch bays serve as frames for mounting adapter panels and organizing fiber links, providing a structured approach to cable management. Breakout boxes are used to convert MPO/MTP connections into individual LC or other duplex connections, accommodating a variety of equipment interfaces. Lastly, pre-terminated MPO/MTP fiber distribution modules can be directly installed in racks or patch bays, simplifying the installation process and reducing on-site labor.
